Biochemistry 413: Molecular Biophysics
Offered every Spring semester. Proteins are amazing biomolecules capable of serving as exquisitely efficient biological catalysts, communication devices, and even molecules to support cellular structure. The focus of this course is to investigate protein structure and function, techniques used to understand protein behavior, enzymatic mechanisms, and signal transduction pathways.

Check out the NSF GRFP funding opportunity for graduate students.
Biochemistry 703: Grant Writing
Offered every Fall semester. Persuasive writing is a critical skill for developing scientists to master. In this course, we discuss various agencies that fund scientific research, funding opportunities for graduate students, components of a grant application, as well as tips and tricks for crafting grant submissions.
Biochemistry 790: Seminar
Offered every Fall and Spring semester. Scientific public speaking is an important method to communicate new knowledge to the community. In this course, students develop a public seminar based on their own research and present their work to the UNR research community.
